Step 1: The Rough Sketch
The 2019 "Hair of the Dog" Memo:
It was 2019, the amps were humming, and my head was pounding. A hungover version of myself hit record, and this melody just... fell out.
Step 2: The Foundation
Fleshing Out the Bones:
Fast forward to September 2024. The hangover finally wore off. The original idea came knocking, and this time, it brought reinforcements. We took that raw 2019 energy and gave it a 2024 brain—crafting twin melodies for the guitar and vocals that finally did the story justice.
Step 3: The Studio Grind
This is where the coffee replaced the cocktails. locking in the drums, and then the bass in studio and finding the grit that the song was begging for.
Step 4: The Final Polish
Captured through the Blackstar HT Stage 60 mkII, the guitars deliver an authentic, high-gain edge. Following tracking, the record underwent a precision final mix to achieve a definitive studio sound.
Step 5: The Conclusion
A Toast to the Blur:
Looking back, this song is a time capsule of a wilder era. Too many nights out, too many drinks, and a few "blackout" moments where we can’t remember the night—but at least we have the music to prove I was there.
